Join us Saturday, November 17, for a dinner fundraising event supporting the creation of the new UC Merced/SCICON Field Station. The long-imagined field station is being developed as a partnership between the university and the Tulare County Office of Educationís acclaimed outdoor education program as a research site for UC scientists to study the unique ecological issues of the Central Valley. In addition, the field station will engage students and educators at the primary, secondary, and postsecondary levels in research and career development.
Jim Vidak Retirement Celebration
The November 17 event will also serve to honor Tulare County Superintendent of Schools Jim Vidak – whose vision it was to create the field station – for his 57 years of service to the students of Tulare County.
Tickets are $75 per person.

Included in the evening's events will be
- social hour with farm-to-fork hors d'oeuvres created by Mitch Vanagten, executive chef at UC Merced (including a no-host bar)
- delicious dinner catered by Ruiz Catering
