A message from Jim Vidak to TCOE staff
It has been my greatest joy to serve as Tulare County Superintendent of Schools for the past 28 years. I look forward to the future, with confidence in the programs and services we have in place to serve Tulare County students.
I’ve been asked many times to name the thing I’m most proud of. I have to say it’s you – the incredible staff of the Tulare County Office of Education. Your initiative, creativity, and drive to do what’s best for the students of Tulare County is clear. You have hearts for service and a focus on seeing that the teachers, administrators and staff in our 43 districts are supported and successful.
I traveled to Sacramento many times over the years and to many of the other county offices of education. Wherever I went, colleagues would compliment our exemplary services and programs, which are known throughout the state and sometimes the nation. “How are you able to do all of that?” they would ask. To this question I would always reply, “We have the best staff in Tulare County.”
Regardless of whether you’re working in teacher recruitment and training, special education, business services, curriculum and instruction, or directly with students in our early childhood education or charter schools, know that you are doing some of the finest work in California education.
I have enjoyed working together to build a county office of education that lives up to its commitment to “Students, Support and Service” and does it with excellence.
Keep up the good work; we’re not done yet!
Tim A. Hire, County Superintendent of Schools
