Tulare County Office of Education
Math Super Bowl

March 23, 2021
online event

The 48th Annual Math Super Bowl will be held on online Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The event is open to seventh and eighth grade students. Each Tulare County school may bring one seventh grade and/or one eighth grade team. There is no limit to the number of students on each team.

This year, participants will compete in two events:
  • Power Bowl - Students will work independently to solve eight problems in a 60-minute period. There is no penalty for guessing. Top scorers from each school will be recognized with a Power Bowl Individual Honors Ribbon.

  • Pro Bowl - Students will work in teams of 1-3 students. They will choose to solve one of four open-ended problems. They will have 90 minutes to complete their work. The Pro Bowl will be evaluated by a committee of judges using a rubric. Students who meet all three aspects of the rubric will receive Superior ribbons. Students who meet two aspects of the rubric will receive Excellent ribbons.

Non-graphing calculators will be allowed for all tests.

Awards are given to students in both large and small school categories.

Register your team for the Math Super Bowl by March 5, 2021.
