Acting Bootcamps:
Acting Bootcamp instruction is provided by TCOE Theatre Company director Bethany Rader. Participants will study many aspects of theatre and performance including character development, scene study, monologue presentation, and/or dramatic critique.
Prior acting experience is welcome but not required.
Middle & High School Broadway Basics Acting Bootcamp:
Students are asked to bring a 1-2 minute monologue of their choosing to the first meeting. Over the course of the four weeks, the class will work on finding and digging into characters, selecting the right monologue for different auditions, and prepping the piece for that audition. Students will work their monologue until it is ready to perform in front of each other. The final element of the course involves giving/receiving feedback from fellow actors because as Sanford Meisner said, “You can't learn to act unless you're criticized. If you tie that criticism to your childhood insecurities you'll have a terrible time. Instead, you must take criticism objectively, pertaining it only to the work being done.”
