English Language Arts (ELA)
Educational Resource Services supports districts by providing expertise in instruction and leadership in English language arts (ELA) and literacy. Our services are designed to support district-wide implementation of the California State Standards and are anchored in the California ELA/ELD Framework. The ELA/ELD staff development and curriculum specialists provide professional learning, customized support, and instructional coaching for districts and schools.

Professional learning services and content coaching are available for multiple ELA needs and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Writer's workshop

  • Guided reading instruction

  • Building assessments to match literary standards

  • On-site instructional coaching for ELA and literacy

  • Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for academic needs

  • Social and emotional learning (SEL) within literary texts

  • Improvement science coaching designed to maximize student achievement and decrease learning gaps
