Statewide Residency Technical Assistance Center (SRTAC)
Vision
SRTAC envisions a robust and sustainable residency ecosystem across California, where teacher and counselor residency programs are able to thrive, scale, and continuously improve — ultimately strengthening the educator pipeline and supporting student success in every community.
Purpose
Funded by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), SRTAC provides specialized, developmentally appropriate technical assistance and support to California’s teacher and counselor residency programs, strengthening their effectiveness, capacity, and long-term sustainability.
What is SRTAC?
In 2023, California launched the Statewide Residency Technical Assistance Center (SRTAC) to support the scaling up and sustainability of educator residency programs across the state. The statewide center is a partnership between five county offices of education — Humboldt County Office of Education, Sacramento County Office of Education, Santa Clara County Office of Education [lead agency], Tulare County Office of Education, San Diego County Office of Education — and The Residency Lab, WestEd, and UCLA Teacher Education Program.
