What are the requirements to be on the countywide substitute teacher list?
If the required documentation is on file with Tulare County Office of Education's Credentials Department, how do I get on the countywide substitute teacher list?
- Valid California credential that authorizes substitute teaching:
- California Substitute Permit authorizations/requirements
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit
- Completed BA or higher degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Met the Basic Skills Requirement
- Emergency Prospective Teacher Substitute Permit
- Completed minimum of 90 semester units of course work from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Currently enrolled in a regionally-accredited four-year California college or university
- Met the Basic Skills Requirements
- Basic Skills 30-Day Substitute Permit Waiver
(must apply through Tulare County Office of Education)- Completed BA or higher degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Has not met the Basic Skills Requirement
- Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit
- List of all other California authorizations to substitute teach per Title 5 §80025.3(a)
