• Books (fiction & nonfiction): Emergent readers, graphic novels, YA titles, chapter books, Spanish/bilingual books, big books, picture books, board books, and small book kits (6–10 copies of the same title)
• Playaway Audiobooks
• Enrichment Items: Puppets, art prints, storytelling kits, and STEM kits
• Digital Resources (K–12): Access curated online tools like Sora, TeachingBooks, Encyclopedia Britannica, and ProQuest via emailed links

CheckThisOut! curates materials by topic—not by specific title. If you’re looking for a particular book or item, please use the Follett Destiny Catalog to reserve it directly.

CTO! selections are based on available materials in the ERS Library collection at the time of curation.

We’ve made it easier than ever to plan your monthly curriculum! Your scheduled delivery dates are now built right into the CheckThisOut! request form. You’ll see them just before selecting your preferred topics.

You’ll also receive your delivery dates in:

• Your confirmation email
• The packing sheets included with each monthly kit

Reminder: Your next kit will arrive on the return date of your previous one!

You’ll receive a reminder email one week before your kit is due. Look for a message titled:
"ERS Library Items Due – Submit Your Pickup or Renewal Request."

In response, simply:

• Reply with "PICKUP" if you're finished with the kit.
• Reply with "RENEW" if you need more time.

We’ll confirm your pickup, provide a new due date, or let you know if any items need to be returned due to existing reservations.

Reminder: Please return all items to your designated delivery/pickup spot by 8:30 AM on your scheduled pickup/delivery date.

If your kit has been sitting in the pickup location for a week, it's possible the ERS Library team did not receive your pickup request, or the kit was placed there after our driver had already visited. Please email library@tcoe.org to let us know your kit is ready for pickup.

The receipt attached to your packing sheet should list everything included in your kit. While we do our best to double-check each one, occasional errors can happen.

If something’s missing, please email library@tcoe.org so we can remove it from your account.

Absolutely! Both educators and students are welcome to use ERS Library materials. Here are a few helpful tips:

• Track what you lend out: Having a simple system to check items in and out helps prevent things from going missing.
• Monitor STEM kits: We recommend keeping these in a supervised space, as they often contain small or valuable components.

We understand that materials are occasionally misplaced and are happy to work with you to locate them. If checked-out materials are temporarily lost, we will extend the checkout period to allow additional time for recovery.

For items that are permanently lost or damaged, your district/site accepted responsibility through its 2026-27 ERS Library Media Services Agreement. Before assessing replacement costs, ERS Library staff will evaluate the item to determine whether it is still needed in the collection. If the item would likely be withdrawn from the collection in the near future, no replacement cost will be assessed.

Yes! You can update your CheckThisOut! selections anytime—just follow these steps:

1. Click the sign-up link above.
2. The page will say "You've already responded."
3. Click "Edit your original response" to reopen your form.
4. Make your topic changes and click Submit to save.

Can’t edit online?
No problem—just email your updates to sara.torabi@tcoe.org.

Important:
Changes must be submitted at least two weeks before your scheduled delivery date to be reflected in your upcoming kit.

Just follow the steps in the “My lesson plans changed…” section above to edit your kit preferences.

Once you’ve opened your original response:

• Scroll to each month’s “Kit Type” section.
• Choose between:
  • 8–10 Item Kit
  • Class Library
  • No Kit

Don’t forget to click Submit when you’re done!

We do our best to match your CheckThisOut! kit to your selected topic. However, availability can vary—especially during high-demand times like holidays.

During peak seasons, you may receive:

• 1–2 items or digital resources related to your requested topic (e.g., Halloween), and
• Additional materials from our general collection to complete your kit

This helps ensure you still receive a full, useful set of resources even when seasonal items are limited.
