TCOE operates two successful charter schools. The La Sierra Charter School offers military-style programs for middle and high school students and an independent study option. University Preparatory High School, located on the College of the Sequoias Visalia campus, offers an early-college model for high school students.  

Additionally, TCOE operates three Community Schools and the Court School to serve those referred students who are either expelled, adjudicated or incarcerated. Court/Community Schools provide students an alternative educational setting where they can develop the social, academic, and life skills to be transitioned successfully back to their home schools or earn their high school diploma, if they are close to graduation.
